Our skin needs to generate a certain amount of lipids (fats) that help the skin's natural barrier to protect itself from aggressions and external factors. These lipids are produced by hormones, which are directly stimulated by the activity of the sebaceous glands.

Acne occurs when the sebaceous glands produce more lipids that it´s supposed to, causing the pores to saturate, causing an irritation that we call acne.

- Hyperfunction of the sebaceous gland causes excess sebum

- Greasy look (excess of oils)

- Inflammation (if redness and sensitivity are present, it may be acne-rosacea. In this case, onsultation with the dermatologist).
